Our club visited EWHA WOMANS UNIVERSITY to participate in a range
of campus tour program. EWHA WOMANS UNIVERSITY is the first
university to have started the campus tour program with enrolled students since
1997. There are two kinds of tour courses. One is History Tour and the other is
Architecture Tour, which take 1 hour. We took the Architecture Tour so we
visited ECC (Ewha Campus Complex), main building, and student culture
center.
ECC was the first place we visited. It was built in the underground, but well-
light and ventilation made us feel like we were at the playground. You can find
gym, theater, fashion shop etc there. The most impressive places were the theater
and fashion shop, which were being run by students. I thought the movie theater
would be the same one like on the street but it only shows independent films.
E:FEEL, fashion shop, is run by students studying fashion at school. In additon,
E;FEEL is more like a lab for fashion majored students. All the creative items
sold there are made by students as project results. Also incoming profits reinvest
in education and research. It was very impressive for me that school could be the
place not only learning but also showing our talents.

Second, we visited the main building. It was the place where all the students
took classes before Korean War. The cross on top of the building had been made
by silver but it was replaced by wooded cross during the Japanese occupation
period. Also we could easily find gun marks on the stairs and the walls. I could
guess how much our ancestors would struggle for freedom. In the building, you
can find the president’s office. It must be very hard work for the first president to
fight against people who had a strong tradition of preferring a son to a daughter.
Lastly, we visited the student culture center. There are major administrative
department, student body and club practice rooms for student’s welfare and
convenience. In the building, many clubs posted promotion materials to attract
new students. Since there were many kinds of clubs, it seemed to be easy for
students to choose the right club for themselves.
Despite the hot weather, thanks to the efforts of the leader, we could know
many about EWHA WOMANS UNIVERSITY. In particular, the beautiful
view of the EWHA WOMANS UNIVERSITY was unforgettable, and the
history of the school made me regard it as a very special school. In addition, the
school tries to do its best to show students’ talents effectively. Through this
opportunity, if I attend this school, I could be closer to my goal in my life.
