Let’s find the fun in the Chinese way of life.
1. There is no cold beer!
On a very hot summer day of 35 degrees, I went to my Chinese friend’s
house. When I asked for a glass of water, the Chinese friend gave me a
hot glass of tea. Again, I asked for cold water. My friend said to me that
there is no cold water in the house. In this way, the Chinese do not
drink cold water, even in hot summer. They always drink hot tea. So,
the Chinese are amazed to see that the Korean people gulp cold water.
Do not expect a cold beer in China. Not only beer but also lukewarm

2. Do not wear a green hat in China!
Wearing a green hat in China means that a married person has
committed adultery. In the past, as a punishment the guilty person was
ordered to wear a green hat. For this reason, the Chinese do not wear
a green hat today. They are unwilling to wear anything in green color.
Sometimes, foreigners in China wear a green hat. This may be a funny
scene for the Chinese. When you go to China for a trip, we recommend
that you do not wear a green hat if you do not want to be laughed at.
3. There are dialect interpreters!
Like all languages, there are many dialects in Chinese. Korean dialects
differ in accent and pronunciation on the basis of the standard
language, but there is no difficulty in communication. In China that has
44 times larger land than Korea, dialects sound like different foreign
languages. For example, by the standard Chinese words, "I am a
Korean" is "Wo shi Hanguoren". However, in the southern region of
China and Hong Kong, people say "Oungro hi hon yat". In addition,
people living in Shanghai say "Arlaumggonin". It sounds like an
entirely different language, doesn’t it? So the Chinese are not able to
communicate with each other if they use their own dialects. This is why
there are dialect interpreters in China.
